Sharunos 60 Druid First of all... 10 members leaving in 3 hours is bad... That's why I decided to start this anyway. Secondly: dont note the forumthings, just an old remain of Keepers of Peace, another guild I've run (which merged to Shadow Legacy) Anyway, the thing is SL is falling part. I don't think it's gonna get away from any other point but that in the end. What I want to do is raise a new guild, but only if thre is some spirit for it. A new name, a fresh start. My idea's for the guild are as follows: - 50-60 members max -> initial idea, but might be raised to 80-100. Depends on developments... - 50+ only (excl. Alts) - Friends from 50+ can join when at 40+ - No IF-spam recruitment after 35-45 members - Login every 10 days required, when we reach the 50-60 members area, to keep the place open for active members, whereas others might be inactive. (Things like holidays should be noted before depature, then you're spot will remain) The idea is to have not an overload of members, making a guild which is personal. Goals are not directly MC/Onyx etc, but the lesser raid instances, mainly UBRS and Zul'Gurub. A 50 members limit with active people should make us able to do an MC attempt at some occasions, but more likely is that we will have to find another guild to ally up with, for these raid things. MC will stay out of sight a bit at first, first trying to get people their Rare(blue) sets and ZG epics. /Edit/ And for the matter of smaller instances: Forgot a few things. Other things that fall under small instances are ofc Arathi Basin, WSG and we could do AV in groups as well. And Blizz recently announced there will come another 20-man raid instance in an upcoming patch (not next one, 1.8) /end edit/ What I specificly do not intend to have: - Guildmerge - Trial periods - Alt guild (with only 60 people max, it should remain clear with alts among them) Ranks will be as follows: Guildleader (1) Officer (4) Member (rest) Alt (7*(rest+5)) ( ) Anyway, I will only attempt this when we get 20 people or more to start with. A guildname will be decided by me + the officers, which I will most assign before we create the guild. If it doesnt work, ill most likely say with SL - you should be able to reply without registering -Please, if you reply, write your ingame-name and class+level on top of your post (not only in the Username field) and add comments as you want. Kinda like I did. Signed people (16): Sharunos Bobsonn Yumiko Omnibrutus Inquis (?) Thomassil Jimmah Tidana Ghanji Leon Calderic Crylin Huor Esiarcni Lumpa Railer

bobsonn, warrior:
i think a fresh start would be nice. since you are trying to get some old members back as well.
i would raise the player cap a litle to 60-80 or something. since MC is a place a lot of player want to go. if we all make sure we all are online at for example sunday and wednesday evening MC could be an option. else ZG or a battle ground.
i hope we can get some KoP fun back into the guild. and that the guild chat wont be all about MC. i know some players left cuz of that reason. i hope the old guild works out cuz we got nice groups for MC and nice classes. we dont lack priest/druid/tank. else this might be a good idea.
maybe let alt's in form lvl 20 is also an idea. since then u wont have 20 lvl 1-10 in the guild witch are never played.

I agree that something must happen. someone must either take control and purge the present guild or should begin a new one from the bruning asses.
If u sharunos would be that someone, i would support u in this. I have made the mistake once to go a other path, but not again.
My blessing is urs,
Greetings OmniBrutus LvL 60 Paladin

First off, I see the recent departure of people out of SL as a cleansing. These people are the spineless ones, that leave the ship not when its sinking, but when the first drops of water appear. I think we can plug this hole, and continue our journey. Where that journey leads I do not, and neither wish to know.
So I strongly suggest we hang on to SL, and give its current leadership (Yumiko and possibly another, second GM) some time to get used to their new role. Personally I've always enjoyed being a part of this guild, and so far I see no reason to start a new one.
If, however, people continue to leave at this rate and we drop below.. say.. 100 members, I can agree on the fact that it would be dying. In that case I'd be more then happy to restart with the people that have proven to be loyal and active members in Shadow Legacy, Shadow Guardians or Shadow Legion.
As for its size.. I like big guilds, so a limit of 50-60 seems way to small to me. These people will never be online all at once, and at this size, it'll be extremely difficult to form guild-only groups for any instance, not just the huge ones like MC. Even at SL's top, 170+ members, it was often (to) difficult to form such a group. Now I haven't hit 60 yet, but I know I'd like to instance with guild-only parties by that time. The level limits sound good to me.
Oh, and eh.. might I suggest a less corny name this time? ;D
P.S. why isn't this posted on the regular SM forums? They still operate as they should.

Inquis, please realise that we never got over 150 accounts ( for as far as I know ). And consider that we had a lot of lower levels online as well. It wasnt the quantity online that made it hard to make guildgroups, but it was the diversity of levels. 50+ should make this less of a problem. Active people can go from 50 to 58 in a matter of weeks.
50-60 is just an aim, maybe it could be raised a bit. But for as far as Im concerned, >100 is way too much. But like said, this is just my idea, and I wanna see how much people see something in it (like I do).

Thomassil, Hunter I agree with sharunos, that level diversity is the problem in our guild. No offence to the lower levels. But it's a problem when 40 people are online, and more of the half is in range of lvl 20 to 49. This way its's hard for these people to find a group in this guild and thus keep spamming IF for a group. Its a big cleansing also. It wasn't cool to see a lot of new members come into the guild and allready participating in MC within a week. It sure wouldn't have been cool to see them leave after they got their epics... And remember to play the game for fun.. not for all the epics. eventually you will earn some of them, but some guilds that are zerging MC all the time must be bloody bored with it allready. I personally like to have some goals in the game, and thats not zerging MC all the time. Allso this new guild would bring back the personality of people back in the game. Like now we look like a big group of lemmings. First one jumped a few hours later a lot of other people followed them And yes, speaking swedish isn't a good excuse to leave a guild. This are the people that are whispering swe? all the time to my healer who hasn't got a guild yet. I won't join an only dutch speaking guild. I don't mind the differences between the nationality's like the /w Swe? people. So to summarize this: I like a more personal guild with active members, who can do something else then only be obsessed by epics and MC. (P.s. The look of MC is really horrible, the design is bad and its all orange and red)

Thank you inquis for opening my eyes. I always thought there was something wrong with the name shadow legion, but now i know it;
We're not having enough warlocks to have a name with shadow in it

I forgot to take out the alts in that 170, 150 is probably a more accurate number yes. As for the groups, I wasn't even talking about the lower levels, but about instances like UBRS. I do agree that the amount of lower levels (including myself) gives a kind of blurred immage about the 'real' size of the guild, the number of competative 60's. People leaving with epics (*cough Nrad cough*) was f**ked up yeah, we wouldn't want anything like that again. In case this guild should happen, please do make sure to have as many 'core members' of today in there as possible, and lets start giving suggestions for names. Personally I'm not into anything that suggests 'look how evhul and do.. dark we are' or 'we r teh holy blezzed kn1gtz do gooders!!'. I'm sure we can come up with something in between. A personal guild name favourite of mine on SH is Loot Hunters Inc., something in that direction

bobsonn lvl 40 warrior loot hunter sounds a litle wierd to me. i first think of a ninja looter. but im not very good with names. i think the main reason for starting a new guild is that we filter out the people who are leaving anyway and the group who wants to go on. we should try to get the classes right.(but thats hard i think) or maybe we should try becomming a PVP guild. ;D owning AV and stuff when we start the new guild. we can go with a bounch of lvl 60's doin all the prequests (MC and Onyxia) getting items from the 10-20 man instances. in that time a lot of 50's will become 60 and MC is an option. i hope i dont talk to much for a lvl 40 here. ;D hope to be 60 very soon 18-40 went in 3weeks. so 20 more lvls to go. greetz bobsonn

btw, note that the number of members might be raised, enabling some more MC. But dont except us to do MC within a matter of days, it might take a few weeks, or even over a month to prepare for that again.
